Chronic and Severe Pain and Medical Cannabis
By Dr. Alex Yazhbin, M. D.
Traditional methods of pain control including NSAID’s such as ibuprofen, other non opiate pain relievers such as acetaminophen, and opiates prove problematic from kidney problems, to liver problems to respiratory depression.
Cannabis treatment provides a relief from a range of symptoms. THC is a direct analgesic acting as an agonist at the CB1 receptor in the brain and peripheral tissue. CBD acts as an anti-inflammatory agent. Both through differing mechanisms cause pain relief. CBD is non psychoactive and may be taken during the day.
THC dominant strains should be taken in a safe place, away from heavy machinery.
Patients with neuropathic type pain from diabetes and other causes benefit from oral CBD regiments with vaporizable THC dominant strains for acute exacerbations. Medical marijuana is not limited to just these two cannabinoids. There are 113 known cannabinoids to date with THC, CBD, CBN, CBGa, and CBC all contributing to pain relief. It is important to know the role of each of these cannabinoids when choosing a pain medication. At Compassionate Care Consultants we help you obtain your Baltimore Medical Marijuana Card and treat your pain.

TESTIMONIAL
I called their clinic as soon as I got my patient id #. Booking the appointment is quick and easy. I like that they ask me questions and make sure my condition is qualified and i have all the required paperworks before sending me to their clinic. Consultation took about 20 mins then i got my medical marijuana approval the same day.
Called their medical cannabis clinic to see if my condition can be approved. The lady on the phone was very helpful and asked me several questions to make sure I can be certified and I met all requirements before I come for an actual appointment. I don't regret choosing them to help me. I'll see them after a year for my renewal.
They gave me a compassionate discount on my appointment. Waiting for my ID # from the commission took days but this clinic is patient with me and assisted me until I was completely certified.
I made some research about medical marijuana and found it really effective for patients where the traditional method of treatment did not work. It helps a lot in pain management with very little side effects compared to those pain meds
